What is eyebrow tinting?
Eyebrow tinting shapes and defines your natural eyebrow arches. Eyebrow tinting is different than micro-needling, which involves actually tattooing hairs onto your skin. Eyebrow tinting instead focuses on enhancing your natural brows. It will not cover sparse patches or gaps in your brows but will help define and enhance your natural arches using semi-permanent dye.
The Eyebrow Tinting Process
Your brow technician will custom mix the perfect eyebrow shade to give you a natural-looking, enhanced brow! Your technician will smooth a semi-permanent dye over your shaped brows to create added definition. The process typically takes about 15 minutes for a brow tint. If you need your brows shaped, a wax and brow tint will last about 25 minutes. Since eyebrow tinting is all about enhancing your natural brow, your eyebrows need to be freshly shaped before your appointment. If your brows have not been shaped within two days of your appointment, they will need to be shaped at your appointment so your technician can properly tint your brows.
Eyebrow tinting typically lasts four to six weeks, during which the dye will slowly and subtly fade. Everyone’s hair reacts to the brow dye a bit differently. You will not know just how long your brow tint will last until you try one! To make your tint last as long as possible, keep your brows completely dry for 12 hours following your appointment (including washing your face). Try to keep your brows as dry as possible for the entirety of your tint. It is best to avoid oil-based skincare and makeup, both of which can make your dye fade faster.
